Health & Admission Requirements

The following requirements apply to all patients. Non-compliance will result in appointment cancellation.

Vaccination Requirements Current Rabies, Bordetella (within 6 months), and DHPP/DA2PP required for all breeds. Records must be submitted via the intake portal prior to the first appointment. No exceptions.
Temperament Assessment All new patients require a 30-minute behavioral consultation before their first service. This assessment determines protocol suitability and is required for scheduling. It is non-negotiable.
Day-of-Service Health Patients must be free of external parasites (fleas/ticks), not in active heat, and clear of any contagious illness or open skin lesions on the day of service. Appointment will be declined if conditions are unmet.

"My dog Maple had been flagged as "ungroom-able" at two other shops. Dr. Santos assessed her, made a gentle handling plan, and Chris groomed her in two calm sessions with no muzzle and no fear. I cried."

Frequently Asked Questions

Potentially. We require a behavioral consultation with Dr. Santos prior to any booking decision. Based on the assessment, we will determine whether our protocols can safely accommodate the patient. We do not guarantee outcomes but have successfully groomed many bite-history patients.

Only with prior guardian consent, and exclusively basket muzzles that permit normal panting. Muzzles are never used as a restraint substitute β€” only as a safety measure during specific brief procedures as documented in the patient protocol.

2 to 3 hours for patients with anxiety or complex coat requirements. We do not impose time pressure. Guardians receive a text notification when the appointment is nearing completion.

Guardian presence is permitted for the initial intake visit. For subsequent appointments, a patient-only environment is strongly recommended β€” most dogs exhibit lower stress indicators without guardian presence in the treatment area.

No. Our services are exclusively available for canine patients at this time.

Cancellations require a minimum of 24 hours' notice. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a service fee. Exceptions are made for documented medical emergencies.

Medications and health conditions are documented in the patient record during intake. Dr. Santos reviews all records prior to the first appointment and updates the grooming protocol accordingly. Please disclose all current medications in your intake form.
